Geotechnical Investigations

At the heart of any infrastructural development is an understanding of the geotechnical and other related aspects of the area in which the project is being developed. Geotechnical investigations therefore form a very critical part of this development.

Mabrouk Trading Company Ltd has a working relation and partnership with one of independent materials testing Laboratory that has been at the heart of major infrastructural development projects in Kenya.

In general, the geotechnical study of any project should describe the terrain in order to provide the necessary information to develop the following works:

Turbine foundation project

Definition of the main geotechnical parameters and the groundwater level depth, in order to define the most appropriate type of foundation (e.g. shallow, semideep, pile foundation, etc.).

Determination of the suitability of the material

Determination of the suitability of the material from excavation for use in embankments, soil improvements and determination of the angle of stability for slopes

Substation Project

Design of switchgear and building foundations, along with the design of the earthing network (analysis of the electrical resistivity of the soil)

Wind farm access roads and hardstands project

Determination of the characteristics of subgrade and its possible soil improvement if necessary
